Before ProKids connected with the Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation, its impact on Greater Cincinnati and beyond was well known.
The late Manny Mayerson and his wife Rhoda created a legacy that the family continues through son, Neal, and their grandchildren. This impact includes the current home of ProKids on Burnet Avenue.
The Mayerson Foundation’s support enabled ProKids to grow over the past decade — so much that it is now busting out of the distinctive building.
In naming the Foundation as the ProKids Community Builder of the Year, ProKids Executive Director Tracy Cook recognized the impact of the foundation this way:
“Thanks to the Mayerson Foundation, ProKids has grown tremendously to reach more waiting children, to change the arc of their lives, to break the vicious cycle of abuse and neglect, and to create a new cycle of growing up safe and confident. As a result of this growth, we have come full circle in terms of our home. We are busting at the seams and need to find new space to support this expanding committed community that cares for kids. The ProKids board, staff, and volunteers cannot thank the Mayerson Foundation enough for the home you have provided us to grow.”
The Mayerson Foundation actively participates with others who are dedicated to creating communities that are just, caring and respectful – communities in which all people have opportunities to reach their highest aspirations. It has a deep commitment to the Jewish Community and is dedicated to supporting the inclusion of people with disabilities; addressing social justice and equality issues; encouraging civic engagement; and, nurturing the development of positive character strengths and wellbeing.
